Purpose of this phase
Deploy the API to staging; wire a real Common Mechanism screening backend; pass an end-to-end DRY-RUN order (screen → blocked-or-approved) with zero unscreened-order attempts. No real money, no lab.

Principles

  1. Article 1

    Design is a falsifiable claim. Every DesignCandidate ships with a Prediction and a calibrated confidence.

  2. Article 2

    Built-and-tested beats in-silico. Success is an AssayResult meeting the predicted threshold, never a score on a screen.

  3. Article 3

    The screen is not optional and it is not the vendor's. Every Construct is screened by synthos before any order leaves.

  4. Article 4

    Knowledge compounds. Every cycle writes priors back to the KB; the next campaign queries before it designs.

Standing refusals

  • We will not order DNA synthesis without a passing, synthos-run biosecurity screen

    100% screen-pass before any real-money synthesis order is the hard sub-gate; bound by metrics.biosecurity_screen_pass_rate (== 1.0, gate: true).

  • We will not design, optimize, broker, or synthesize sequences of concern (Select Agents, Australia Group, export-controlled, gain-of-function)

    No campaign, customer, or price clears a controlled or pandemic-potential pathogen sequence. There is no approval path.

  • We will not enhance the pathogenicity, transmissibility, or host range of any pathogen (dual-use research of concern)

    Enhancement work is irreversible on civilizational horizons and outside any legitimate commercial design campaign.
